Established in 1991, Unity Christian School is a State Accredited School with 17 years of
success. UCS is non-sectarian. Instead, we are a Christian School that uses the Bible as our
foundation.
UCS is this area’s only State Certified Academic Private School. We are listed on the State of
Tennessee Board of Education’s website, and are in good standing with TANAS, the
Tennessee Association of Non-Public Academic Schools. Each spring, our students are tested
at the national level with the Stanford Achievement Test.

classes for the 2008-09 year will begin in mid-July.

OUR CURRICULUM
Quality Christian education is our primary goal at UCS. We instruct using the A Beka Book
curriculums as created by Pensacola Christian College in Florida. Because it is based on
sound reasoning, common sense, and the Word of God, thousands of Christian schools
around the world successfully use this curriculum.
Mathematics, grammar, and spelling are all rule-governed activities which are taught in a
rational approach with examples aimed at Christian character building. History gives students
the record of God’s plan for mankind as related to man’s creation and fall, the redemptive plan
of God, and the fulfillment of God’s perfect will and purpose for His creatures. Science presents
the universe as the direct creation of the God of the Scriptures and refutes the man-made idea
of evolution. Our most important subject, Bible, is taught with the sole concern of leading
students to a saving knowledge of Christ and then helping them grow spiritually in the Lord.
OUR STUDENTS
Students begin writing in cursive and reading proficiently in kindergarten. The majority of our
high school graduates go on to attend a college of their choice. One graduate, Spencer
Edwards, trained as a linguistic expert of the Arabic language for the U.S. Military. Stanley
Jones, an eighth grader last year, applied and was accepted to Hargrave Military Academy in
Virginia (a preparatory school for Harvard). He continues to be on the President's Honor List
each quarter and has been selected to serve on the Honor Council.

peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of Him who
hath called you out of darkness in to His marvellous light."

the strictest of standards. Teachers of grades K - 3 have their master's degrees in Advanced
Primary Education and Advanced Elementary Education.
Many of our teachers who have come to us from other school systems comment on our
students’ better discipline, excitement in learning, and respect for God and their peers. Each
morning our teachers meet and pray for the students, school, each other, our nation, and
personal needs. Our teachers are not only concerned with intellectual education but with the
emotional and spiritual welfare of each child.
